HI there. If you’re like me, you’ve heard over and over again that making money in your sleep is easy. Actually, they say that making ANY kind of money is easy. Ya Right!!
I don’t know if you know who Laurel Langemeir is, but I once heard her speak (she is very compelling by the way!) and she said, “Once you make your first million, you’ll look back on it and realise how easy it really was! The second million is even easier” …and so on.
There seems to be another common thread among those who have made their own fortunes and that is that you absolutely MUST find some sort of mentor who has already done what you are trying to do. Since they have spent the time making all of the mistakes, you’ll be able to get there in half the time. If, of course, you are willing to put in the time and energy required to succeed, oh, and that you listen to the advice of others.
(I actually find this to be the most difficult part of it all)
I have been doing this internet marketing thing for awhile now, and yes, I am making money in my sleep, and I have a mentor, actually, I have 15,000 mentors!
How can I have that many mentors you ask? Well, I belong to the Wealthy Affiliate Community and there is an ever growing group of individuals who are eager to give advice whenever needed, and will do so willingly and without an expectation of a return. In the Wealthy Affiliate Community good karma abounds! I have helped others and I have also received many, many pieces of invaluable advice just from reading the forum posts and the private messages of others. If it were not for the Wealthy Affiliate Community I would still be packing my kids into their little carseats every morning, sending them to daycare, working, picking them up after someone else had the privilege to spend the day with them, and then I would feed them, hug them and put them to bed…the next day, I would repeat the same, sorry routine.
Now, I raise my own children during the day, then, at night, after they have gone to bed, I spend a few hours each evening tracking my hits, tweaking my campaigns and writing my blogs.
If I had one piece of advice about learning how to make money in your sleep as an affiliate marketer it would be to find yourself a mentor…OR, find yourself 15,000!

Probably the most important first step to making money in your sleep is to determine whether you would like to sell a product, or market a product. The selling of a product can be done, but you’ll have to take into account the warehousing and production of said product. It is, indeed possible, but the money you will be making will probably require a great deal of waking hours…not necessarily helping you to achieve the lifestyle you are obviously looking for if you are reading such a blog.
That being said, there is the information product market which should be considered. Creating an information product and marketing it means that you simply create a product, give it a little tap out of the nest and see if it can fly. If it does, you will make a tidy sum doing nothing more than writing it once and leaving it alone (especially if you hand it over to the internet marketers to spread the word for you). If it doesn’t you have simply wasted the amount of time it took you to write and research a short book. (35-65 pages is truly long enough for today’s internet info seekers)
Most people tend to begin as affiliate marketers. The overhead is low, the returns are high and the risk is virtually non-existent. It’s hard to believe I know, but there are many, many people out there in the big wide world making $1000’s of dollars a day selling other people’s products. If you choose to use affiliate marketing as your way to make money in your sleep, for your first venture you should choose to market something that you already know about. Maybe it’s pets, or sports, or card games or golf.
Next, research, like crazy about this niche!! What needs do these people have? What drives them to want to spend their money? What must they have in order to ‘survive’? What product would you want as a person who has experience in this niche? Let’s look at golf as an example. Golfers would sell their souls for a better golf swing. They would give up their last dollar to have their balls fly consistently down the fairway every time. They want to repeat that ‘I’ll be coming back to play another game after that shot” feeling consistently and will pay for that feeling. So, what can you sell to the golfers of the world that will make their golf swing better? Figure it out, find a product and start to sell it.
Create a website, write articles, become a presence in the world of your niche. Be a name that comes up in your niche as being someone who knows something about whatever it is you’re selling. Read up on it yourself. Become more of an expert than most (this usually takes about five books or so) and be okay with flaunting your knowledge. Become the person that everyone trusts. Then, you’re guaranteed tonnes of sales!!!
Then, the money in your sleep will come rolling in!

We’ve been hearing it over and over again, “Make Money In Your Sleep”, “Become a Millionaire While You Sleep.” How the heck can this be possible? How can I make money in my sleep? Because let me tell you, if this is at all possible, I’ll be the first to sign on the dotted line. As long as the contract hasn’t been written by Mephistophales that is!!
So after months of research into this I have discovered that it is, indeed possible to make money in your sleep if you are sure to be very much awake while learning how to do so.
It doesn’t come instantly. It isn’t a matter of stating, “I will make money tonight.” Then, click, off goes the light and in the morning, a quick check of the bank account shows an increased balance. Indeed, the work required to get to the making money while sleeping phase is quite extensive. Allow me to explain.
There is a basic theory that if we all continue to trade time for money (as in an hourly wage) we will never truly become wealthy. For many of us, myself included, this has been the only means of income that we have ever known. We work a certain number of hours and get paid according to a pre-negotiated rate, whether it be minimum wage or something significantly higher. We are still trading our valuable time for someone’s money. Since there are a finite number of hours in a day, it is virtually impossible to make infinite amounts of money.
Enter the internet.
It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And at any given time there are thousands upon thousands of people on the internet, researching and buying!! And there it is, the way to make money in your sleep. Find the willing buyers and direct them to the sellers. This is called Internet Marketing and with it, you can make money in your sleep. People with things to sell will pay you a percentage of their profits for directing these willing buyers to them.
Internet Marketing is a win/win situation. You win if you are a seller because you don’t have to pay for marketing unless you have a guaranteed sale. You win if you are a buyer because you don’t have to deal with all the hassels of stocking product, shipping product and generally dealing with the overhead of having product.
So, how do you send willing buyers to sellers sites? Well, that’s the rub. It’s not as easy as you may think.
